Role Overview
We are looking for an energetic and service-oriented E40 Shop Assistant to join our retail team in Welkom, Free State. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in day-to-day store activities including stock receiving, cashier operations, merchandising, and customer service. This is an opportunity for someone passionate about retail, with a strong work ethic and a drive to deliver consistent, high-quality service to customers.
This role is suited for a reliable individual with Grade 12, good communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities

Perform cashier duties, ensuring accurate and friendly customer transactions

Receive, off-load, and check incoming stock

Arrange and replenish stock on shelves, fridges, and displays

Maintain visual merchandising standards to maximise product appeal

Ensure high standards of cleanliness and general store hygiene

Report any issues, damages, or stock discrepancies promptly

Accurately count stock and complete reporting duties as required

Provide courteous and efficient customer service at all times

Work collaboratively with the store team to meet daily targets

Maintain health, safety, and housekeeping standards in all areas of the store
Qualifications and Experience

Grade 12 / Matric – Essential

Ability to communicate fluently in English (written and verbal) – Essential

Prior experience in a retail or FMCG environment – Advantageous but not required
