Role Overview

FlySafair is hiring two Dispatch Assistants to join its Head Office team based in Bonaero Park, Johannesburg. Reporting directly to the Manager: Warehouse, this permanent role is essential to maintaining the smooth movement of aircraft spares and ensuring compliance with warehousing protocols.

As a Dispatch Assistant, you will play a critical part in preparing, inspecting, and dispatching aircraft components and spares, ensuring accuracy, safety, and timeliness in all warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect all unserviceable aircraft spares to confirm proper flushing and readiness for shipment

• Verify documentation for unserviceable spares prior to warehouse induction

• Ensure proper packing of spares on shelves to avoid damage

• Coordinate closely with the Planning Department to complete movements in the SAM system

• Conduct daily inventory checks on all unserviceable items in SAM

• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies or operational issues

• Update inventory accurately in the SAM (ERP) system

• Securely package items for safe shipping and minimize transit-related damage

• Coordinate with logistics and shipping companies for pickups and deliveries

• Maintain strong communication across departments to guarantee timely dispatch

• Provide regular feedback to both internal and external stakeholders

• Keep the dispatch area audit-ready and organized at all times

• Follow company procedures and safety standards consistently

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent – Essential

• 1–2 years’ experience in warehousing – Essential

• Experience with dangerous goods and aircraft spares packing – Advantageous

• Must be physically fit – Essential

• Ability and willingness to work overtime and 24-hour shifts – Essential

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Familiarity with ERP systems like SAM – Advantageous

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
