Role Overview
The Technician: Construction and Forestry will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of construction and forestry equipment. The technician will also play a key role in building positive customer relationships, ensuring service excellence, and maintaining safety standards across all work performed on-site or at the workshop.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on construction and forestry machinery

Ensure all job cards are accurately completed and updated post-service
-
Respond to equipment breakdowns efficiently and professionally
-
Use diagnostic tools and technical manuals to identify faults and solutions
-
Follow all health and safety guidelines and use protective equipment at all times
-
Provide excellent customer service and resolve technical queries promptly
-
Adhere to prescribed turnaround times and escalate unresolved issues

Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times
-
Work both independently and as part of a team to ensure operational uptime

Contribute to the continued reliability and functionality of all serviced equipment
Qualifications and Experience
-
N2 Qualification as a Technician – Essential
-
Minimum 3 years’ relevant technical experience, including formal apprenticeship training
-
Valid South African driver’s licence required
-
Hands-on experience in forestry and construction equipment maintenance preferred
Technical Competencies

Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems and diagnostics
-
Proficient in maintenance techniques for heavy-duty machinery
-
Knowledge of health and safety protocols and PPE compliance
-
Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical schematics

Familiarity with updating job cards and service reports
