Role Overview

The Sales Representative: Vehicles position is ideal for enthusiastic, driven individuals who are passionate about sales, cars, and customer service. Based in the dynamic Gauteng East Region and covering multiple branches, this role involves selling used vehicles while delivering exceptional client service. The representative will be expected to identify leads, develop relationships, close deals, and contribute to the profitability and growth of Auto Pedigree.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance to meet dealership targets

  • Acquire a sound understanding of vehicles, including features, benefits, and comparative advantages

  • Engage customers on the showroom floor and online, providing knowledgeable guidance and building rapport

  • Assist in setting up showroom displays that attract and inform potential buyers

  • Accompany customers on test drives, following required procedures for documentation and safety

  • Identify new customer leads and pursue them to expand the sales pipeline

  • Manage client expectations and maintain strong post-sale relationships

  • Proactively seek new business opportunities and revenue streams

  • Handle customer escalations effectively and ensure positive outcomes

  • Negotiate deal terms, complete sales contracts, and ensure customer satisfaction

  • Monitor competitor offerings and keep updated on vehicle market trends

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate

  • Valid Code 8 driver’s license

  • Willingness to work weekends and flexible shifts as needed

Desirable:

  • 2 years of proven sales and customer service experience

  • Experience in the automotive or retail motor industry

  • Familiarity with Auto Pedigree’s product offerings

  • Basic understanding of retail and finance compliance, including the National Credit Act (NCA)

  • Multilingual communication skills – a plus for engaging local clientele

Skills and Competencies

  • Solid computer literacy and comfort with CRM or dealership management systems

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (telephonic and face-to-face)

  • Confidence in sales negotiation and deal closing

  • Entrepreneurial flair with a self-starting attitude

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines

  • Great presentation skills and professional appearance

  • Analytical and numerically strong with attention to financial detail

  • Resilience, adaptability, and the ability to work independently and in a team
