Role Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced and client-focused Financial Advisor to join our Sales & Distribution unit in Sandton. This role is best suited for individuals who are passionate about financial planning, possess a deep understanding of risk and wealth management, and enjoy building long-term client relationships. The successful candidate will provide personalized financial advice to Discovery Life, Invest, and Insure clients by conducting detailed financial needs analyses and policy reviews, identifying opportunities for improvement or enhancement in their portfolios.

Unlike commission-driven sales roles, this position focuses on long-term client servicing and offers a stable, structured income model that rewards professional financial guidance and client retention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth reviews of clients’ short- and long-term financial goals, including wealth creation, retirement planning, and risk protection

  • Perform financial needs analyses and prepare tailored proposals for individuals or families

  • Advise clients on Discovery’s comprehensive product suite, including Life Insurance, Investments, and Health-related solutions

  • Keep clients informed about new product developments, regulatory changes, and policy updates

  • Assist clients in making informed financial decisions aligned with their goals and risk appetite

  • Review policies regularly and recommend adjustments based on changing personal or financial circumstances

  • Design integrated financial strategies that support client well-being and future readiness

  • Maintain professional communication, uphold ethical standards, and support Discovery’s mission at all times

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • Wealth Management qualification with at least 120 credits

  • Valid RE5 Certification (Representative Regulatory Exam)

  • At least 2 years of working experience as a Financial Advisor

Preferred:

  • Understanding of comprehensive financial planning

  • Familiarity with investment products, risk insurance, and short-term/long-term coverage

  • Previous experience working within Discovery Life, Invest, or Insure will be an advantage
