🎯 Role Overview

As a Risk Intern, you’ll be embedded in Tiger Brands’ SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) ecosystem. You will support a variety of risk and compliance activities that promote a safe and sustainable work environment. The internship is structured to align with your academic goals while immersing you in real-world industry practices.

This opportunity includes working cross-functionally with departments and completing a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) project under the guidance of a dedicated line manager.

🧰 Key Responsibilities

During your internship, you’ll have the chance to:

  • Collect, manage, and analyze SHE-related data

  • Participate in emergency drills and incident investigations

  • Contribute to contractor safety management processes

  • Support the execution of internal SHE audits and inspections

  • Assist in developing and reviewing SHE procedures and SOPs

  • Promote safety awareness through training sessions and campaigns

  • Conduct Planned Job Observations (PJOs) related to workplace safety

  • Complete a structured Work Integrated Learning project aligned to business objectives

πŸŽ“ Essential Qualifications and Skills

To be considered for this internship, you must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • National Diploma in Safety Management or Risk Management

  • Currently seeking to complete P1 and P2 experiential training

  • Must be a South African citizen residing in or near Germiston

  • Must not have worked full-time in your field of study for more than one year

  • Must have valid work authorization in South Africa

  • Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills

  • Willingness to learn in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
