Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Receiving Supervisor to lead and manage our receiving operations at our Loop Street branch in Bloemfontein. This pivotal role ensures the accurate intake of stock, effective management of warehouse personnel, and strict adherence to compliance and safety standards.
The successful candidate will drive process improvement, oversee inbound stock handling, and ensure collaboration across departments. This is a hands-on leadership role, best suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can lead by example with confidence and accountability.
Key Responsibilities

Perform blind checks on all inbound goods to ensure consistency between deliveries, documentation, and system records

Supervise warehouse operators and receiving clerks; monitor productivity and ensure SOP compliance

Identify, report, and resolve discrepancies or damaged stock, initiating supplier follow-up when necessary

Ensure the safe and compliant handling of fragile, hazardous, or perishable goods

Work closely with Inventory, Quality Assurance, and Logistics departments to maintain operational efficiency

Accurately log received stock for inventory tracking and reconciliation

Continuously optimize receiving procedures for greater accuracy and faster turnaround times

Maintain compliance with internal policies and all regulatory requirements

Monitor truck turnaround times and coordinate any batched receiving activity

Uphold safety standards by enforcing PPE usage and fostering a safety-first culture in the receiving area

Schedule and manage team meetings, attendance, leave planning, and performance management

Provide coaching and hands-on training to team members

Assist in setting and achieving departmental targets
Qualifications and Experience

Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent is required
-
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Receiving Supervisor or similar role is essential
-
Prior experience in the FMCG retail or logistics industry is strongly preferred

Strong computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Excel and Word
-
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Strong attention to detail and a results-driven work ethic
