Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to enter the real estate industry through one of the most trusted property brands in South Africa. The Intern Estate Agent role focuses on the successful listing, marketing, and selling of properties in and around Mitchell’s Plain.
As an intern, you will operate under the guidance of experienced full-status agents while completing your required real estate qualifications. This is a commission-based role that requires self-motivation, resilience, and a strong passion for sales and customer service.
Applicants must reside in Mitchell’s Plain, have access to a reliable vehicle, and be able to support themselves financially for 6 to 8 months before commission earnings begin.
Key Responsibilities

Generate leads by collecting information on available properties

Canvass properties for sale within the Mitchell’s Plain area

Schedule and manage photography, home staging, and listings

Visit clients to conduct home valuations and offer area insights
-
Accurately estimate property values using market comparisons

Develop and implement property-specific marketing plans
-
Coordinate and host property show days and viewings
-
Represent sellers during negotiations with potential buyers

Manage sales pipelines and liaise with all relevant stakeholders including mortgage originators, attorneys, and conveyancers

Stay informed on local and national residential market trends
Qualifications and Experience
To operate legally as an estate agent in South Africa, you will need to:

Register with the Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority (PPRA)

Apply for a Candidate Estate Agent Fidelity Fund Certificate (FFC)
-
Complete an NQF Level 4 Real Estate Qualification through an accredited provider
-
Compile a logbook detailing practical experience

Write and pass the Professional Designation Exam (PDE)

Minimum Requirements

Matric (Grade 12)

Must reside in Mitchell’s Plain, Cape Town

Valid South African driver’s licence and own reliable transport

Access to a laptop or tablet and smartphone

Financial stability to support yourself for at least 6 to 8 months until commission earnings begin

Previous sales experience is advantageous but not essential
