Position Overview
The Technician will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of John Deere tractors and related equipment. This includes diagnostics, technical servicing, and customer-facing support. The ideal candidate will bring solid mechanical knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to health and safety standards. The role involves both in-branch work and field service tasks, often in outdoor and high-temperature conditions.
Key Responsibilities

Perform professional repairs and maintenance on John Deere tractors and agricultural machinery

Ensure job cards are correctly completed, updated, and submitted in a timely manner

Build and maintain positive customer relationships through high-quality service and quick response times

Troubleshoot customer complaints and ensure they are resolved within agreed turnaround periods

Ensure the work environment is safe, and use all personal protective equipment as prescribed

Comply with occupational health and safety regulations and organizational safety policies

Monitor and ensure that all equipment is maintained in working order and up to manufacturer standards
Minimum Requirements
Education and Training:
-
N2 Qualified Technician (Mechanical or Agricultural focus preferred)
Experience:
-
3 to 5 years of experience specifically working with John Deere equipment

Proven track record in agricultural machinery repair and service
Technical Competencies:

Valid South African driver’s license
-
Advanced product knowledge related to tractors, hydraulics, and mechanical systems

Ability to diagnose mechanical faults and perform technical repairs

Good record-keeping skills for maintenance reports and logs
