🛒 Role Overview
As a Cashier at TimberCity Malelane, your primary responsibility is to ensure a seamless checkout experience for customers. You will greet customers, process purchases, handle payments, and maintain accurate till balances while upholding the brand’s commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence.
📋 Key Responsibilities

Warmly greet customers as they approach the counter

Efficiently ring up sales transactions using the POS system

Accept payments via cash, card, or other methods

Issue receipts accurately and handle returns or exchanges per company policy

Maintain daily cash float and ensure till balances at the end of shift

Promote a positive customer experience through professional public relations

Report discrepancies, shortages, or any suspicious activity to management

Support colleagues in other departments when needed

Uphold and promote the company’s values and customer-first culture
🎓 Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 / Matric
-
Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)

2–3 years of cashier experience preferred

Basic computer literacy and experience with retail POS systems

Willingness to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays

Customer-oriented, polite, and helpful demeanor
-
Product knowledge in timber and building materials will be advantageous
