We are currently looking for a qualified and detail-oriented Product Development Chemist to join our expert team. This individual will play a critical role in the execution of analytical method development, verification, and validation activities that support both regulatory compliance and product excellence.
Role Overview
The Product Development Chemist will focus primarily on method verification, validation, and optimization of analytical procedures. This includes stability testing, raw material analysis, and method troubleshooting. You will work within regulatory frameworks and industry best practices to support innovation while maintaining quality.
This is a permanent position based in the Northern Suburbs (Cape) and is ideal for a science professional with strong experience in both the pharmaceutical and food industries.
Key Responsibilities

Execute and coordinate validation and verification plans in line with allocated timelines and quality standards

Assist in analytical method development, optimization, and verification in line with regulatory guidelines

Validate or verify newly developed and existing analytical methods to ensure reliability and compliance

Analyze Process Validation and Cleaning Validation samples in accordance with approved protocols

Compile detailed protocols and reports for analytical method validations

Perform testing on new raw materials, trial products, competitor products, and conduct stability studies

Participate in troubleshooting investigations, ensuring efficient resolution of technical challenges

Support new product development by evaluating ingredient functionality and performance
Qualifications and Experience

A B.Sc. Honours in Chemistry or equivalent qualification with demonstrated report writing experience

Solid knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and laboratory safety standards is advantageous

Minimum 3 years of industry experience in the food or pharmaceutical sectors is required

At least 2 years in an R&D environment related to food or pharmaceutical products is advantageous

Strong computer literacy is essential, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
