📋 Role Overview

The Sales Coordinator is a key player on the store’s frontline sales team, responsible for boosting sales through direct customer interaction, accurate quoting, and maintaining high merchandising and housekeeping standards. This role also oversees an efficient delivery process and supports customer service initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned retail professional with strong organizational, communication, and numeric skills, as well as the ability to lead and support sales floor personnel.

📌 Key Responsibilities

💼 Sales Operations

  • Generate sales by issuing and following up on quotations.

  • Cost building plans accurately and ensure quotations are provided within agreed timeframes.

  • Manage and track special orders effectively.

  • Conduct regular competitor analyses to ensure price competitiveness.

  • Promote loyalty programmes such as VIC and Charge Cards.

  • Manage incoming and outgoing customer calls, ensuring timely follow-ups.

🚚 Delivery Coordination

  • Ensure all deliveries are dispatched on time with accurate delivery charges.

  • Handle delayed deliveries proactively by contacting customers and arranging suitable alternatives.

  • Maintain cost-effectiveness and efficiency in the delivery service.

📞 Customer Service Management

  • Provide efficient customer service at the Customer Service Desk.

  • Log, track, and resolve customer complaints and issues promptly.

  • Ensure customers are attended to in-store and via phone at all times.

  • Maintain excellent telephone etiquette and ensure all calls are answered promptly.

🏬 Store Standards & Merchandising

  • Oversee “Ready for Business” checklists for the team and ensure full compliance.

  • Ensure price changes are updated as per advertised prices.

  • Implement and maintain accurate planograms and merchandise displays.

👥 People Management

  • Ensure General Assistants, Sales Advisors, and Forklift Drivers are present and effective in their roles.

  • Maintain back-up personnel for each role to ensure service continuity.

  • Supervise daily execution of responsibilities across the sales floor and receiving areas.

🦺 Health & Safety Compliance

  • Monitor adherence to OHSA requirements in the workplace.

  • Ensure all staff in your control wear appropriate protective gear and use tools safely.

🔐 Security Awareness

  • Remain vigilant regarding suspicious behavior inside and outside the store.

  • Maintain password and systems security awareness among team members.

🎓 Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 with at least 5 years of relevant experience OR 10 years of total work experience in retail or sales

  • Plan reading ability is an added advantage

  • Strong numeric skills and attention to detail

  • Computer literate and comfortable with POS and CRM systems

  • Fluency in English and the dominant language in the region

  • Proven customer service and sales generation experience

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent planning, organizing, and delegation skills
