Role Overview
Hollywoodbets is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Financial Manager to join their finance division in Umhlanga. This role is ideal for a finance professional with commercial experience who is ready to support strategic financial operations, lead junior team members, and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Reporting to senior leadership, you will work closely with the broader finance team to manage budgets, compliance, and risk, while also contributing to process improvement initiatives and financial controls across the group.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts, budgets, VAT reconciliations, payroll reconciliations, and working paper files. You’ll be responsible for financial analysis, reporting, and commentary for board and committee meetings. A strong focus will be placed on internal controls, high-risk transactions, asset management, inter-company reconciliations, and IFRS compliance. You’ll also review non-routine transactions and oversee the processing of payments in line with statutory requirements.
You will be expected to play a key leadership role within the team, managing Bookkeepers, Debtors, Creditors, Junior Accountants, and Interns. Responsibilities will include staff performance management, training, succession planning, recruitment, and ensuring alignment with company values. Your role also involves engaging with the BEE project team and ensuring audit readiness and documentation compliance.
Qualifications and Experience
✔ Minimum 2 years’ commercial finance experience
✔ Strong Microsoft Office skills
✔ Experience using Pastel Evolution or similar software
➕ Advantageous: BCom/CIMA degree with completed articles
