🛍️ Role Overview
The Floor Advisor will be responsible for ensuring the efficient ordering, stocking, and selling of agricultural products in the retail store environment. The role also involves advising clients on suitable farming-related products, conducting stock control checks, and maintaining high merchandising standards. It is a hands-on position requiring attention to detail, product knowledge, and strong communication skills.
🔧 Key Responsibilities

Assist customers with product queries and guide them on purchases related to agricultural and veterinary supplies

Order, receive, merchandise, and sell stock in a timely and organised manner

Conduct monthly control checks and stock counting to ensure inventory accuracy

Sort and store goods safely and efficiently in designated areas

Maintain a clean and organised retail floor, ensuring shelves are fully stocked and well-presented

Be ready to work overtime when operationally required, including weekends and peak farming seasons

Adhere to all Health & Safety protocols within the store environment

Stay informed on the latest agricultural trends and products to provide up-to-date advice to customers

Report low stock levels and recommend reorders to maintain supply consistency

Support promotional activities and seasonal campaigns within the retail store
🎓 Qualifications and Experience

Matric / Grade 12 certificate is essential
-
Basic computer literacy required for processing sales and inventory management

Knowledge of veterinary medicine and agricultural supplies is highly advantageous

Familiarity with general farming practices and products

Prior retail or floor sales experience in a trade or agricultural store preferred

Must be hardworking, reliable, and able to handle physical tasks

Ability to work under pressure, especially during busy periods

Good marketing and communication skills for client interaction and upselling
