🧾 Role Overview

As a Cashier, you will be responsible for the efficient and accurate handling of all Point of Sale (POS) transactions. This includes processing payments, handling customer queries, and ensuring that stock and goods are not passed through the till without being paid for. 📌 Key Responsibilities

💸 Cash Handling

• Accurately process all customer transactions through the POS terminal.

• Balance your cash drawer daily, including float and petty cash.

• Capture correct payment methods and ensure all stock is accounted for.

• Process store-related transactions such as quotes, deliveries, and other branches’ payments correctly.

• Drop daily takings into the vault or drop safe without delay.

• Ensure enough change is available throughout the shift and perform pick-ups as required.

• Conduct end-of-shift cash-ups with zero discrepancies.

• Sign off and file all cashier-related documentation appropriately.

• Maintain neat and accurate records of all transactions for audit and reporting purposes.

🎓 Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 certificate or Grade 10 with at least 1 year of retail or cashier experience

• Good understanding of basic numeracy and calculations

• Ability to communicate fluently in English and the local language

• Strong administrative and filing skills

• Ability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays

• Comfortable working under pressure in a busy environment
