⚙️ Role Overview
VKB Milling is seeking a motivated and reliable Assistant Operator to provide operational support in its Christiana maize mill. This is an excellent opportunity for entry-level candidates with a basic educational background and a passion for manufacturing, packaging, and mill operations.
You will work under supervision to support packaging tasks, ensure cleanliness, assist with mill operations, and represent VKB with professionalism and pride. If you enjoy hands-on work, are safety-focused, and seek to build a career in the agriculture and food processing industry, this role is for you.
📋 Key Responsibilities

Assist with product packaging ensuring accurate weights and labeling

Load stock correctly for dispatch and verify quantities

Support the milling process through supervision and reporting of issues

Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dispatch and working area

Provide friendly and efficient service when interacting with internal clients or drivers

Represent the company as a VKB Milling ambassador through professionalism and dedication

Assist in any other operational functions as required by supervisors
🎓 Qualifications and Experience

Grade 12 (Matric) or NQF Level 4 equivalent required

Must be able to read and write fluently

A technical background or experience in milling or packaging is advantageous

Experience in similar manufacturing roles will be beneficial

Must have a clean criminal record

Medically fit to perform physical tasks, including lifting and operating in a mill environment
