🧩 Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for bookkeeping to trial balance, managing core financial functions including accounts payable and receivable, VAT reconciliations, inventory and asset control, and supporting the accounting team with financial reporting. You’ll work remotely but closely with internal teams, ensuring that financial data is timely, accurate, and compliant.
This role is ideally suited for someone who thrives on financial order and reconciliation, enjoys problem-solving, and has a firm grasp of Sage 200 Evolution, Excel, and the full accounting cycle.
📌 Key Responsibilities
📊 Bookkeeping & Financial Control

Maintain accurate bookkeeping to trial balance

Process all financial transactions using Sage 200 Evolution

Manage cashbook entries and bank statement reconciliations
-
Prepare and maintain general journals, salary journals, and accruals
💰 Debtors & Creditors Management
-
Handle all debtors functions, including invoicing, credit notes, statements, and customer queries
-
Oversee creditors by processing supplier invoices, reconciling accounts, and scheduling payments

Maintain updated Debtors and Creditors books
📦 Assets, Inventory & Tax

Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules
-
Handle stock and inventory records for accounting purposes

Perform accurate VAT reconciliations
🌍 International Finance & Admin

Coordinate international payments and bank correspondence
-
Submit EOI’s, BOE’s, and NEP’s for incoming and outgoing funds

Manage courier logistics and shipping for admin tasks

Support general administration, including SARS, bank queries, and account openings
📈 Reporting & Collaboration

Assist the company accountant by preparing reconciliations and supplying financial data

Ensure monthly chart of accounts is updated and reconciled

Maintain an accurate Asset Register

Perform trial balance checks and ensure books are audit-ready
✅ Qualifications and Experience
🎓 Minimum Requirements:

Bookkeeping to Trial Balance qualification

Minimum 5 years’ experience in full-spectrum bookkeeping

High proficiency in Sage 200 Evolution

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, etc.)
