Role Overview

The End Controller will be responsible for overseeing all goods and fixed assets leaving the store premises, ensuring documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with company policy. The position also manages customer returns, prevents stock loss, and contributes to security efforts through routine checks and controls. This role is essential in maintaining the integrity of daily operations, particularly in the final stages of sales and dispatch.


Key Responsibilities

Security and Stock Movement

  • Ensure no stock or assets leave the premises without valid and completed documentation.

  • Verify all dispatch documentation for accuracy, including correct dates, time stamps, and signatures.

  • Ensure customer returns are documented and approved in the End Controller book.

  • Monitor loading and unloading areas; keep shutter doors closed when not in use.

  • Log End Control keys IN/OUT daily and ensure controlled access to secure areas.

  • Conduct random employee searches to minimize shrinkage risks.

  • Report suspicious activity or vehicles to store management promptly.

  • Ensure that all exit/entry points are monitored and secured appropriately.

Customer Service

  • Provide quick, friendly, and efficient check-out support for customer goods.

  • Direct customers to the appropriate personnel for further assistance or queries.

  • Support a smooth and secure customer experience during dispatch or return processes.

Operational Readiness

  • Follow “Ready for Business” and “Beyond My Control” policies as per CB Way.

  • Ensure operational readiness during shift transitions, breaks, and lunch hours by ensuring a backup is available.


Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 with at least 1 year of relevant experience OR minimum 2 years of related experience in retail or stock control.

  • Fluency in English and the dominant regional language.

  • High attention to detail and strong numeric skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask effectively.

  • Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
