Role Overview

We’re on the lookout for enthusiastic, detail-oriented individuals to join our Buying Department as Buying Admin Clerks. This entry-level administrative role is vital in supporting the buying team with accurate data entry, report checking, electronic and physical filing, and general office support. Ideal for school leavers or entry-level job seekers, this position offers on-the-job training, making it a perfect starting point to build a long-term career in retail and supply chain.


Minimum Requirements

  • Matric (Grade 12/National Certificate) – essential

  • No prior work experience required – training will be provided

  • Computer literacy is non-negotiable

  • Strong basic mathematics skills

  • Attention to detail and high accuracy

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

  • Familiarity with the Bomm system or any in-house merchandise systems is an advantage


Key Responsibilities

📊 Data Capture

  • Input crucial information related to pricing, deals, supplier listings, product listings, jab orders, linking, ranging, and trade agreements

  • Accurately update logs on the Buying IRM system

  • Maintain consistency and accuracy in all data handling activities

🔍 Data Checking

  • Print daily/weekly reports and cross-check them against captured entries

  • Identify and rectify discrepancies to maintain data integrity

🗂️ Filing & Record Management

  • File documents according to OTRS sequence as allocated by the Buyer

  • Maintain well-organized electronic filing systems for price lists and supplier deals

  • Support audit and compliance requirements with organized document control

🧠 General Office Support

  • Serve as a point of contact for administrative queries

  • Contribute to team growth by assisting with onboarding and training of new staff members

  • Maintain a high standard of collaboration and communication within the department
