Role Overview
Under Armour Fairlands in Randburg is currently seeking a dynamic and driven Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in leading the team to success. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with solid retail experience who is passionate about leadership, customer service, and brand excellence.
As the Assistant Store Manager, you will help ensure that the store runs smoothly and profitably, while also playing a key role in motivating and mentoring the team. Your responsibilities will involve operational excellence, sales achievement, visual merchandising, staff performance, and customer satisfaction. You’ll also be expected to take initiative, solve challenges on the floor, and contribute to creating an energetic, supportive, and results-driven work culture.
Key Responsibilities

Assist the Store Manager in the day-to-day operations of the store.

Help drive sales performance through effective team management, strategic thinking, and execution of sales initiatives.

Support recruitment, training, and development of store staff.

Motivate team members to meet and exceed sales goals while upholding the brand’s image.

Manage stock levels and assist in merchandising to ensure the store always looks its best.

Provide an exceptional shopping experience to every customer, embodying the Under Armour brand ethos.

Maintain operational compliance including cash handling, health & safety procedures, and internal policies.

Step into the Store Manager’s role during their absence and maintain full operational oversight.

Work collaboratively with regional and head office teams to deliver campaign and promotional initiatives.

Assist in resolving customer queries and ensure excellent after-sales service.
Qualifications and Experience
-
A Grade 12 certificate or equivalent is essential.
-
1–2 years of retail management experience in a fast-paced store environment.

3–4 years of retail experience, preferably in a fashion, sport, or lifestyle brand environment.

Prior experience supervising or managing a team is an advantage.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Sports knowledge or a passion for fitness and performance is a definite plus.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Able to work weekends, holidays, and flexi-hours depending on store needs.
