Role Overview
Rainbow Worcester is offering a career opportunity for an experienced Ultra-heavy Motor Vehicle Driver based in Cape Town. This role involves the transportation and delivery of goods to multiple clients, with an emphasis on safety, efficiency, and adherence to road regulations. The ideal candidate will be a reliable, skilled driver with strong communication and loading/offloading capabilities.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare vehicle before each trip and conduct full inspections to ensure roadworthiness.

Safely load, transport, and offload goods using offloading equipment or through manual supervision.

Secure all loads before departure in accordance with the National Road Traffic Act.

Manage tarpaulins when necessary, including opening and closing.

Maintain professional and efficient interactions with customers upon delivery.

Complete all required documentation accurately.

Follow all instructions given by the supervisor.

Uphold good housekeeping of vehicle and ensure neat presentation of uniform and PPE.

Comply with SOPs, safety procedures, and company transport regulations.

Practical driving evaluation

USCS training modules

Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Educational Requirement:

Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
-
Must be verbally and numerically literate (minimum Grade 10 level)
Licensing and Experience:

Valid Code EC (Code 14) Driver’s License with PrDP (DGP)

At least 3 years of experience driving ultra-heavy vehicles

Minimum age: 25 years

Defensive driving knowledge essential
Additional Skills and Knowledge:

Strong understanding of emergency procedures and defect reporting

Ability to inspect vehicles and operate fire extinguishers

Knowledge of efficient loading and offloading techniques

Experience maximizing transport efficiency and minimizing risks
