Role Overview
Astral Goldi is looking for a highly capable and dependable Ultra-heavy Motor Vehicle Driver to join the team in Standerton. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of goods using ultra-heavy vehicles such as Superlink or Interlink combinations. This role requires someone who values professionalism, has a clean driving and criminal record, and is willing to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare the vehicle for trips, ensuring it meets all safety and operational standards.

Operate ultra-heavy duty vehicles for the loading, transportation, and offloading of goods.

Accurately handle trip documentation and perform any ancillary duties as required.

Execute all driving tasks with a focus on safety, efficiency, and company procedures.

Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the vehicle, uniform, and PPE.

Adhere to all SOPs and safety procedures at all times.

Carry out reasonable instructions from Supervisors promptly and effectively.

Participate in necessary training, evaluations, and induction processes.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Qualifications:

Grade 12 / National Certificate

Valid Code EC (Code 14) Driver’s License with PrDP
Experience:
-
Minimum 3 years of ultra-heavy vehicle driving experience.

Minimum 3 years of experience with Superlink/Interlink or similar truck combinations.
Other Requirements:
-
Defensive driving skills.

Familiarity with emergency and defect reporting procedures.

Skilled in vehicle inspection, cost-effective driving, and proper loading/offloading techniques.

Must have own reliable transport.

Medically fit with a clean criminal record.

Prepared to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
