Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Ultra-heavy Motor Vehicle Driver to join our team in Cape Town. This role is key to ensuring timely, safe, and efficient deliveries across various locations. The ideal candidate will have strong tanker and Superlink/Interlink experience and uphold the highest standards of road safety, vehicle maintenance, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare the truck and conduct all necessary vehicle checks before commencing trips
Transport goods in an ultra-heavy motor vehicle, including tankers and Superlinks
Safely load and offload products according to company procedures
Manage all transport documentation and ensure timely completion
Follow route schedules and adapt to changes efficiently
Maintain the cleanliness of vehicle, uniform, and personal protective equipment (PPE)
Comply with all safety procedures, operating standards, and national traffic regulations
Perform emergency reporting and operate fire extinguishers as needed
Participate in required safety and induction training
Support housekeeping and uphold vehicle presentation standards
Represent the company professionally during customer interactions
Be available to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as operationally required
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate)
Licensing and Certification:
Valid Code EC (Code 14) Driver’s License
Valid PrDP (Professional Driving Permit)
Valid Passport (for cross-border readiness)
Experience:
Minimum 3 years driving an ultra-heavy motor vehicle
Minimum 3 years tanker operations experience
Minimum 3 years driving Superlink/Interlink combinations
Other Requirements:
Own reliable transport
Medically fit
Clean criminal record
Strong understanding of emergency reporting and defensive driving
Knowledge of cost-effective and safe vehicle operation
