Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a General Worker at the Total Warehouse in Longmeadow, Modderfontein. The position calls for an experienced individual who has worked in warehousing, manufacturing, or a similar environment and possesses a valid forklift license. As a General Worker, you will contribute to the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring cleanliness, orderliness, and safety standards are maintained, while also supporting staff with logistical and operational tasks. This role requires physical endurance, attention to detail, and the ability to follow safety protocols meticulously.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

Performing daily housekeeping tasks to ensure the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and working areas

Using forklift equipment to move stock and goods as instructed (requires valid forklift license)

Assisting office and warehouse staff with general logistics tasks as needed
-
Complying with all health and safety requirements in line with company and legal standards

Operating machinery and heavy cleaning equipment in a safe and responsible manner
-
Reporting any hazards, repairs needed, or unusual conditions to building management or supervisors immediately

Ensuring proper handling, storage, and disposal of cleaning materials and chemicals

Assisting with goods receiving, inventory counts, or dispatch processes as required

Maintaining an organized storage space and ensuring clear walkways at all times

Working cooperatively with fellow employees and management to ensure smooth operations

Following reasonable instructions from supervisors and contributing to the team’s success
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Education:
-
Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4 equivalent
Experience and Certifications:
-
Proven experience working in a warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment

Valid forklift license and experience operating a forklift in a fast-paced setting
-
Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, handling procedures, and safe storage practices

Experience working independently and within a team structure
Essential Skills and Attributes:

Must be able to lift, push, pull, bend, and walk for extended periods during working hours

Excellent organizational and communication skills

Must be detail-oriented and able to complete tasks without constant supervision
