Role Overview:
BUCO Nelspruit is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Supervisor: Logistics to manage and oversee the day-to-day logistics operations of the yard and delivery services. This position is crucial to ensuring smooth coordination of stock, timely customer deliveries, compliance with legal standards, and effective team management. The successful candidate will contribute to achieving the store’s objectives by maintaining accurate stock control, efficient workflow, and staff performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivery and Yard Operations:

Coordinate all customer deliveries efficiently and on time

Monitor all incoming and outgoing delivery vehicles for accuracy and safety

Ensure customers driving into the yard are promptly attended to
-
Physically inspect delivery vehicles and stock leaving the yard to prevent discrepancies
Administrative and Compliance Duties:

Maintain all necessary logistics-related documentation and administrative processes
-
Report any discrepancies in stock, deliveries, or processes to management immediately

Maintain legal compliance related to yard safety, logistics operations, and forklift usage
-
Create and manage staff rosters for weekends and public holidays
-
Ensure all logistical procedures adhere to internal policies and government regulations
Staff Management and Leadership:

Lead and supervise logistics and yard staff, fostering a motivated and productive team

Monitor and manage employee attendance and ensure workforce efficiency
-
Check forklifts are prepared for operation, including inspections for oil, water, and mechanical performance

Promote a harmonious labour environment by applying company policies and leading by example
Stock Control and Yard Maintenance:

Accurately manage and maintain yard stock levels
-
Conduct physical stock checks to verify counts against records
-
Ensure stock is stored, handled, and transported correctly to minimize loss and damage

Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 / Matric

A technical qualification or logistics-related diploma is advantageous

At least 2 years’ experience in a similar logistics or yard supervision role

Basic computer literacy and ability to work with logistics or stock systems

Working knowledge of warehouse or yard operations
