Role Overview
As a Sales Consultant – Wood, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while ensuring that the right products are recommended to meet customer needs. You’ll engage with customers to understand their specific requirements, guide them through the product options, and ensure that their purchasing experience is seamless and satisfactory. Your role will focus on delivering personalized solutions, which may include product suggestions, service offerings such as delivery and installation, and comprehensive after-sales support.

Key Responsibilities

Apply an effective sales process to build lasting customer relationships and meet sales targets.

Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service, helping customers find the best solutions.

Engage with customers to understand their needs and guide them in selecting the right products.

Propose personalized product and service solutions, including delivery and installation options.

Identify new business opportunities by staying informed about market trends and customer preferences.

Follow up on sales leads and maintain consistent communication with customers through multiple channels (email, WhatsApp, phone, etc.).

Liaise with the Department Manager and merchandisers to ensure that popular products are always available to meet customer demand.

Maintain the store’s outstanding condition, including layout, cleanliness, accurate pricing, product availability, and visual merchandising standards.

Participate in the department’s commercial action plans, including promotional events and sales campaigns.

Assist customers throughout the entire sales process—before, during, and after the sale—ensuring they are fully satisfied.

Help maintain a fully stocked store and support with the sales process by ensuring product availability.
Qualifications and Experience Required

Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 qualification is essential.

Proven sales experience, preferably within a hardware or wood products retail environment.

A passion for serving customers and delivering excellent service.

Friendly, helpful, confident, and engaging personality, with the ability to build rapport quickly.

Strong problem-solving skills and an understanding of pricing methodologies.

Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to meet customer needs effectively.

Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

A curious mindset with the ability to take initiative and explore new opportunities.

Excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to manage a customer portfolio throughout the sales process.
