Learning Process Facilitator Role Overview

TFG is seeking a Learning Process Facilitator to lead the development and implementation of strategic training programs for our merchandise teams. This includes managing the graduate program, integrating new training initiatives into the company culture, and ensuring that our teams are well-equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their careers. This role requires an individual who is passionate about coaching and mentoring, with a strong background in retail merchandise planning or buying, and a deep understanding of the retail industry.

Key Responsibilities

Training and Development Management

  • Programme Management: Oversee strategic training programs, including the graduate program, ensuring that the merchandise teams are equipped with the skills and knowledge to succeed.

  • Training Integration: Lead the integration of new training initiatives into the company culture, ensuring that they are well-received and adopted by the teams. Learning Process Facilitator

  • Onboarding Experience: Collaborate with the Fuse and Retail Brands teams to ensure a seamless onboarding process for new Retail Graduates, providing a positive and comprehensive introduction to TFG.

  • Continuous Mentorship: Provide ongoing mentorship and support to Merchandise Graduates, addressing any challenges they face and facilitating their professional development.

  • Collaboration with Departments: Work closely with various departments to ensure that the merchandise teams have access to comprehensive training and necessary resources.

  • Monitoring and Feedback: Assess the progress of training programs, offering feedback and suggestions to improve performance and enhance the content and curriculum.

  • Check-ins and Reviews: Organize regular check-ins with Merchandise Graduates, their line managers, and coaches to ensure that training goals are being met.

  • Alignment with Strategic Objectives: Ensure that all training programs are aligned with the company’s overall strategic objectives, contributing to business success.

Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • A relevant tertiary qualification is required.

Experience

  • 5-7 years of experience in coaching and mentoring teams, specifically within merchandise planning or buying.

  • In-depth understanding of the retail industry, particularly in Buying and/or Planning.

Skills and Competencies

  • Technical Coaching and Knowledge Sharing: Ability to coach and mentor individuals effectively, sharing valuable insights to help them grow.

  • Programme and Project Management: Experience in managing training programs or projects from inception to completion.

  • Needs Analysis: Ability to identify training needs and tailor programs to address them.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to facilitate learning and communicate effectively with diverse teams.

  • Change Management: Expertise in driving and managing change within a fast-paced organization.

  • Collaboration: Ability to work well across different teams and departments, ensuring smooth coordination.

  • Facilitation Skills: Experience in facilitating training sessions, workshops, and meetings.

  • Business Insight: Ability to apply market and business insights to drive organizational objectives.

  • Decision Quality: Consistently makes timely, well-rounded, and informed decisions that align with company goals.

  • Drives Engagement: Inspires and motivates individuals to exceed expectations and contribute to team success.
