As part of their expansion efforts, they are seeking a Junior Facilities Manager to join their team in Greenstone, Gauteng. The successful candidate will help maintain the company’s facilities, ensure compliance with safety and legislative requirements, and contribute to the overall operational excellence of the company.

Role Overview
As a Facilities Manager, you will play a key role in managing maintenance projects, ensuring adherence to safety procedures, and overseeing the daily operations of the company’s facilities. You will be responsible for conducting self-audits, managing service provider productivity, and ensuring that the company’s operational policies and safety regulations are being followed. The role requires a hands-on, proactive individual with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage stakeholders and manage adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLA) where applicable.

  • Conduct self-audits to ensure compliance with operational requirements and standards.

  • Monitor and manage the productivity of service providers to ensure they meet SLA terms.

  • Maintain hygiene, health, and safety standards through effective management of contractors and service providers.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Risk, Maintenance, and Safety Leaders, to resolve operational matters.

  • Liaise with Centre Management, Landlords, and maintenance contractors regarding maintenance issues, such as security, safety, parking, electricity, plumbing, etc.

  • Ensure exceptional customer service at all times and handle customer interactions, complaints, and requests.

  • Enforce and maintain operational policies, procedures, and processes across the store.

  • Implement key control and access control measures to ensure security.

  • Review CCTV footage and take action based on findings.

  • Comply with OHS and legal requirements, including conducting hygiene internal audits.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, such as access and key management.

  • Assist with commercial and operational duties, including working on weekends or during employee days off.

  • Train employees and contractors on store operational policies and ensure effective communication.

  • Manage resources and workforce planning in line with legislative and company policies.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 qualification is required.

  • SAMTRAC certification is essential.

  • Previous experience in regulatory compliance and reporting is advantageous.

  • First-responder experience and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, for reporting and delivering content to employees.

  • A friendly, helpful, confident, and engaging personality.

  • Strong proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

  • A curious mindset with the initiative to solve problems and improve processes.

  • Strong relationship management skills and the ability to work effectively with different stakeholders.

  • Excellent multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to perform ad-hoc operations duties as needed.
