Role Overview:
The Regional Manager III will be responsible for ensuring operational effectiveness and achieving sales and client service objectives across designated regions. This role requires a strong leader with a deep understanding of the FMCG industry, a strategic mindset, and a hands-on approach to execution. The successful candidate will manage people, budgets, operations, client relationships, and field activities to meet both financial and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Target Management:

  • Set monthly and quarterly sales goals per channel.

  • Develop and implement a detailed project plan to meet targets.

  • Collaborate with buyers and update clients regularly.

  • Oversee promotional strategies, new innovations, and manage out-of-stocks.

  • Ensure forward share optimization and minimize credit notes.

Operational Oversight:

  • Ensure compliance with visit cycles and time management protocols.

  • Maintain stock availability, shelf health, and product visibility.

  • Enforce returns and promotional management policies.

  • Sustain strong relationships between store management and field staff.

  • Update Strike Action Plan biannually.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead the full employee life cycle: recruitment, induction, training, development, and succession planning.

  • Maintain staff morale and ensure Employment Equity targets are met.

  • Delegate tasks effectively and foster innovation within the team.

  • Monitor staff wellbeing and performance.

Financial Management:

  • Draft annual budgets and submit for approval.

  • Analyze variances and control expenditure within limits.

  • Generate financial reports monthly.

  • Ensure policy compliance and risk mitigation.

  • Authorize orders where necessary.

Client & Market Intelligence:

  • Gather and report on competitor activities and tenders.

  • Ensure field staff is informed and aligned with strategy.

  • Maintain effective communication with clients and provide solutions promptly.

Administrative Excellence:

  • Monitor salary inputs and expense claims.

  • Ensure adherence to scorecards, leave policies, and audits.

  • Maintain office equipment and hygiene standards.

  • Enforce asset register updates and conduct regular audits.

  • Execute disciplinary procedures when required.

Personal and Team Development:

  • Uphold professional standards and organizational values.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Essential:

    • Diploma or Degree (NQF Level 7) in Business, Sales, or related field.
