Role Overview:
The Operations Manager II is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and quality assurance of complex projects. This includes field operations, performance monitoring, client relationship management, and the integration of mobile and electrical infrastructure solutions. The candidate will serve as the central point of accountability, collaborating across departments, managing budgets and people, and ensuring timely project delivery that aligns with client expectations and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Achievement of Project Objectives:

  • Contribute to business planning and implementation strategies

  • Assess and allocate necessary resources cost-effectively to meet project goals

  • Develop and execute comprehensive project plans

  • Continuously improve operations by benchmarking against best practices

  • Monitor quality of work delivered by field staff and resolve deviations

  • Provide regular feedback to the Management Committee (MANCO)

Account Management and Client Alignment:

  • Maintain detailed tracking and control of client targets

  • Address customer complaints and service issues proactively

  • Stay current with market trends and competitor actions

  • Drive client retention through innovative and analytical solutions

  • Ensure team adherence to customer service and performance standards

Administration and Compliance:

  • Develop and streamline administrative systems for efficient reporting

  • Accurately document expenditures and ensure budget adherence

  • Oversee salary submissions and collaborate with HR on payroll matters

  • Manage staff scorecards, contracts, and performance records within deadline

Electrical Project Oversight:

  • Attend installations involving solar PV systems and electrical cabling

  • Identify and resolve risks during installation and commissioning

  • Verify operational performance of the installed electrical systems

  • Support the testing of in-house developed mobile apps and their integration with external platforms

  • Ensure all business applications perform seamlessly in field conditions

Operational Excellence:

  • Design, implement, and enforce SOPs and operational policies

  • Maintain accurate IC (Independent Contractor) databases

  • Monitor project data accuracy and initiate corrective action when needed

  • Produce and analyze operational reports to inform future strategies

  • Stay updated on industry developments and share insights with the broader team

  • Oversee ad hoc project rollouts from inception to final reporting

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Relevant Diploma or Degree (NQF Level 7)

  • 6–7 years of experience in operations management at a senior level

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general business systems
