Role Overview:
DSV in Cape Town is looking for a dynamic and experienced Sales Representative to drive new business growth within the Transport and Logistics sector. This role is focused on signing new clients, developing strong pipelines, and achieving set revenue targets. The successful candidate will represent the DSV brand across the Western Cape, promoting integrated logistics solutions across multiple silos including warehousing, distribution, and freight forwarding.
Key Responsibilities:

Sign new business accounts in the distribution and logistics market for the Cape Town region.

Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads.

Meet or exceed monthly and annual new business sales targets.

Conduct effective prospecting through cold calling, networking, and lead generation.

Manage customer relationships to ensure long-term client satisfaction and retention.

Collaborate with internal departments to create tailor-made cross-silo logistics solutions.

Prepare tenders, sales proposals, and client presentations aligned with DSV offerings.

Analyze sales data and provide regular feedback to the Regional Sales Manager.

Submit monthly reports and maintain up-to-date client information in the CRM system.

Monitor debtor days and ensure payment compliance from signed clients.

Mentor junior business development staff to support sales targets.

Represent the DSV brand professionally in all client-facing interactions.

Identify competitor trends and report on industry developments.

Support interdepartmental communication for successful implementation of signed deals.
Qualifications and Experience:

Education: Matric or equivalent qualification.

Experience:
-
2-3 years of New Business Sales experience in the Transport and Logistics industry.

Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets.

Experience with tender management and sales of multi-service logistics solutions.

Proven skills in customer relationship management and pipeline development.

Computer Literacy:

Intermediate level across the full Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).

Experience using CRM systems for client tracking and reporting.
