Role Overview:
DSV is seeking a highly experienced Manager, Inventory Solutions to oversee inventory control operations within a dynamic, multi-client distribution center in Matroosfontein, Cape Town. The ideal candidate will possess expert knowledge of warehouse inventory systems, cycle counting, and supply chain processes. This is a key leadership position requiring strong analytical, communication, and client management skills to ensure all contractual inventory-related SLAs are consistently exceeded.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management and Control:

Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly inventory deliverables to maintain SLA compliance.

Manage inbound, outbound, returns, and cycle-counting workflows.

Execute root cause analysis for discrepancies and implement corrective actions (CAPAs).

Conduct system-to-system balancing to ensure WMS and client systems are always aligned.

Plan and execute stocktakes, ABC analysis, FIFO reviews, and obsolete stock actions.

Maintain Material Master and Bin Master data for optimal stock accuracy.

Monitor inventory aging, virtual locations, and return processes to ensure efficiency.

Ensure compliance with SHE standards and audit requirements.
Client and Commercial Engagement:

Develop strong relationships with clients and understand their supply chain models.

Interpret and manage inventory-related KPIs and contractual SLAs.

Investigate and resolve inventory-related queries within 24 hours.

Provide clear, actionable reports on inventory performance, risks, and resolutions.

Support national operations and audits where needed.

Contribute to system enhancements and process optimization initiatives.
Team and Leadership:

Manage, lead, and motivate inventory teams to drive accountability and performance.

Monitor staff performance and provide support, training, and development.

Encourage collaboration across internal departments to support cross-functional objectives.

Foster a high-performance culture centered on accuracy, innovation, and compliance.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum Requirements:

Matric or equivalent.
-
3-year Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Industrial Engineering.
Work Experience:
-
At least 6 years of experience in a warehousing or logistics environment.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing stock takes and cycle counting programs.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing staff in a warehouse or distribution setting.

Demonstrated ability to perform detailed investigations and root cause analysis.
Technical Skills:

Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.

Extensive experience with WMS, ERP, and inventory software applications.

Strong data management and reporting skills.
