Role Overview:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Health Consultant for their Midlands Mall store in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. The Health Consultant will specialize in vitamins and supplements, promoting Dis-Chem’s Health Focus products through effective customer service and sales techniques. Key Responsibilities:
As a Health Consultant, you will be expected to:

Customer Service Excellence: Assist and advise customers, providing them with high-quality customer care, and ensuring they are fully informed about the benefits and uses of Dis-Chem’s vitamins and supplements.

Sales and Promotion: Promote and sell Health Focus products, meeting monthly team, brand, and vendor targets. Implement promotional displays and merchandising material to boost sales.

Merchandising and Stock Management: Keep merchandise displays in the health focus area stocked, faced up, and well-organized. Ensure products are displayed correctly according to store layouts and promotional materials.

Product Knowledge: Stay updated on new products and product lines to effectively advise customers. Share knowledge about vitamins, supplements, and health foods to support informed purchasing decisions.

Stock Control and Returns: Follow the Health Department’s administrative procedures, including weekly returns, stock control, and monitoring stock levels to ensure adequate stock availability.

Teamwork and Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to maintain a well-organized department and ensure smooth store operations. Assist with back shopping to support efficient store function.

Price Discrepancy Reporting: Identify and report any price discrepancies to management promptly.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate must meet the following qualifications and experience:

Essential:

Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent secondary school qualification.

At least 6 months of sales experience in a vitamins or health-related environment.

Strong command of the English language.

Computer literate, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Solid numerical skills.

Willingness and ability to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Advantageous:

A qualification in BSc Biomedicine, BSc Biotechnology, or another relevant qualification within the health focus field.

Sales experience in a retail environment, especially within the health industry.

Previous experience working with vitamins, supplements, or health foods.

Fluency in a second language commonly spoken in the area.
