Role Summary:
PG Group is seeking a Truck Assistant in Durban to support delivery operations by safely assisting the driver with loading, offloading, and maneuvering glass products to customer locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the driver with loading and offloading of glass at suitable, level surfaces.

• Secure loads according to standard loading procedures and ensure the glass is safely tied during trips.

• Conduct quality checks while loading and complete the required check sheets.

• Support the driver by guiding truck movements in confined spaces or unseen areas.

• Help manage paperwork and documentation associated with deliveries.

• Ensure the load is secure before departure from each customer site.

• Follow all standard operating procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines.

• Maintain environmental, safety, and housekeeping standards.

• Perform any additional tasks as requested by the factory supervisor.

• Be willing to work overtime and weekends when required.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Matric (Grade 12)

• License: Code 10 or higher with PDP (advantageous)

Experience:

• Handling and moving of dangerous goods

• Handling various types of glass products

• Glass handling and quality control

Skills and Attributes:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and numerical ability

• High energy and ability to perform in fast-paced environments

• Able to work independently and under pressure

• Reliable and punctual with good time management

• Physically mobile and capable of traveling to and from work
