Key Responsibilities
As a Shop Assistant, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth running of the store and an exceptional shopping experience for customers. Your responsibilities will include:

Customer Experience: Creating a welcoming, inspirational, and personalized shopping experience for all customers. You will engage with customers to understand their needs and provide expert advice on beauty and skincare products.

Sales and Turnover: Drive sales and turnover by motivating and inspiring your team to meet sales targets. You will play an essential role in achieving store sales goals and maximizing store performance.

Visual Merchandising: Ensure that visual merchandising standards are maintained to create a beautiful and enticing store atmosphere that will attract customers and encourage them to make purchases.

Store Maintenance: Maintain a clean, neat, and tidy sales floor, ensuring that all areas are fully replenished with stock and well-organized. You will ensure the store is always inviting and professionally presented.

Stock Control: Manage stock levels effectively, preventing stock losses and shrinkage. You will also check that products are correctly priced with relevant price stickers and signage.

Stocktaking and Reports: Participate in stocktaking activities and check cycle count variance reports. Investigate variances, and escalate any stock shortages or discrepancies to the Area Manager.

Point of Sale Procedures: Ensure all point of sale (POS) and banking procedures are followed correctly, raising any concerns with the Area Manager as needed.

Operational Standards: Adhere to all store standards, operational policies, and procedures to ensure efficient daily operations.
Qualifications and Requirements
The ideal Shop Assistant will possess the following qualifications and skills:

Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.

Passion for Retail and Cosmetics: A genuine passion for cosmetics, retail, and customer service. You should have a keen interest in beauty products and skincare and be enthusiastic about promoting them to customers.

Knowledge of Beauty Products: Familiarity with beauty and skincare products is essential to offer the best possible advice to customers.
