Job Overview

Absa Bank is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Sales Consultant (FAIS) to join its Tsakane branch. This role is essential in growing the bank’s customer base through proactive acquisition, customer retention, and cross-selling of financial products. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying and attracting new clients while enhancing the profitability of existing customer portfolios.

As a Sales Consultant, your focus will be on delivering excellent customer service, building strong relationships, and driving sales performance to contribute to the overall success of the branch. You will work closely with your team to ensure financial targets are met while maintaining compliance with banking regulations and risk management policies.


Key Responsibilities

1. Customer Acquisition & Portfolio Growth

  • Actively seek out new customers and introduce them to Absa’s banking solutions.

  • Identify potential business opportunities and market financial products that meet customer needs.

  • Strengthen relationships with existing customers by offering tailored banking solutions.

  • Increase portfolio value through cross-selling and upselling financial products such as loans, savings accounts, and investment services.

2. Achieving Sales & Financial Targets

  • Work towards exceeding sales goals by promoting Absa’s products and services.

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to attract new customers and retain existing ones.

  • Conduct financial assessments to understand client needs and recommend suitable products.

  • Provide sound financial advice and educate customers on available banking solutions.

3. Customer Service & Risk Management

  • Ensure all customer interactions align with Absa’s customer service standards.

  • Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints efficiently to enhance customer satisfaction.

  • Adhere to the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS) and all relevant banking regulations.

  • Ensure all transactions are accurate, transparent, and compliant with Absa’s policies.

4. Team Collaboration & Business Support

  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure seamless branch operations and exceptional service delivery.

  • Share sales strategies and industry knowledge to improve team performance.

  • Support the branch’s overall goals by actively contributing to marketing campaigns and promotional activities.

  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay up to date with the latest financial products and industry trends.


Minimum Requirements

  • A Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC) in a relevant field.

πŸ“Œ Experience & Skills:

  • Previous sales experience in banking, retail, or financial services.

  • Strong understanding of customer relationship management (CRM).

  • Ability to identify sales opportunities and close deals effectively.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of FAIS regulations and compliance requirements.

  • Goal-driven and able to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
