Job Overview:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Casual Cashier to join their Berea Pharmacy store. The role focuses on supporting customer service at the point of sale, ensuring a seamless shopping experience while accurately recording customer transactions in accordance with Dis-Chem’s policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Provide professional service and assist customers with any queries.
- Transaction Handling: Accurately process payments via cash, bank cards, vouchers, and other forms of payment.
- Cash Flow Responsibility: Ensure proper cash handling, maintain a secure cash drawer, and place cash in the drop safe according to SOPs.
- Stock Control: Ensure all merchandise is scanned and paid for correctly, and report discrepancies.
- Customer Complaints & Compliments: Address and report customer feedback to the store management.
- Security & Risk Management: Follow security policies, report suspicious activities, and prevent fraud risk.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- 6 months of cashier or till operations experience
- Computer literate (MS Office)
- Strong numerical skills
- Good command of English
- Basic customer service experience
- Willing and able to work retail hours
Advantageous:
- Third additional language
Competencies:
- Cash Register Operation: Proficiency in handling cash drawers and processing payments.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to perform tasks accurately and maintain focus.
- Problem-Solving: Address customer issues effectively and efficiently.
