Job Description:

The Patrolperson will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of employees, assets, and operations through routine security procedures, crime prevention, emergency response, and other related tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Security Operations:
  • Follow work instructions and accurately complete administrative requirements.
  • Report irregularities to supervisors and ensure compliance with work and security standards.
  • Conduct routine patrols, checkpoint duties, and assist during community unrest or emergencies.
  • Operate security vehicles and manage access controls.
  • Respond to security alarms and conduct surveillance for investigations.
  • Arrest transgressors and provide evidence in disciplinary or criminal cases.
  • Promote security awareness and maintain equipment and personal image.
  • Participate in relevant meetings and gather crime-related information.

Qualifications:

• Required:

  • Grade 12 or Grade 10 (for employees with 10+ years of service).
  • PSIRA Armed Response Course.
  • PSIRA Grade C registration.
  • Valid driver’s license (Code B).

• Desirable:

  • Experience in using a shotgun for business purposes.
  • Code B Armoured Vehicle driving course.

Experience:

• 2 years’ experience in a security environment or equivalent.
• Supervisory experience is advantageous.

Skills:

• Computer literacy.
• Knowledge in handling emergency situations and various firearms.
• Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written).
• Ability to write statements and handle legal matters such as case dockets.
• Knowledge of security regulations and emergency protocols.
