Job Description
The Merchandiser is responsible for ensuring that all stock is correctly and neatly located, binned, and displayed at all times. This role also involves maintaining the cleanliness and condition of racks, bays, gondolas, and display systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service and interact with customers.
- Achieve Sales Targets: Help achieve sales and gross profit targets.
- Stock Merchandising: Ensure stock is displayed correctly and neatly; manage stock placement.
- Report Damaged Stock: Report on damaged stock and ensure compliance with merchandising standards.
- Product Promotions: Assist with product promotions and stock replenishment.
- Stock Management: Follow up on quotes, manage stock returns, and monitor stock depletion.
- Administration: Complete administrative tasks and reporting.
Job Requirements
- Grade 12 (essential)
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar position
- 1 year’s experience in shelf packing/merchandising
- Knowledge of general building material environment (essential)
- Proven success in personal selling and achieving sales targets
- Ability to manage and coordinate regular stock takes
