Job Description
An exciting opportunity has become available in our Clothing Baby Department. We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Buyer to join our team. The role will involve delivering profitable and sustainable growth by buying a balanced product range that aligns with customer expectations while meeting key performance indicators (KPIs). You will play a crucial role in driving the success of the department, ensuring the product range meets the highest standards in terms of quality, trend alignment, and financial viability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct post-season analysis to inform the operating plan.
- Develop the product mix plan for the department, considering customer needs, trends, competitive analysis, and product category strategies.
- Identify the range structure, price points, and tiers for the product offerings.
- Conduct weekly and monthly performance analysis, implementing detailed action plans to ensure KPIs are met or exceeded.
- Identify opportunities within the season to maximize profit and grow market share.
- Effectively manage Open to Buy (OTB) to maximize sales and minimize markdowns.
- Ensure confirmed styles are loaded into SAP on time.
- Manage the critical path to ensure timely launches.
- Achieve/exceed margins through effective supplier negotiations and open book costing.
- Review the range to ensure alignment with departmental strategy and KPIs.
- Coordinate packaging and in-store signage in line with marketing/brand and promotional strategy.
- Conduct regular store and competitor visits to understand product performance, assortment balance, and customer experience.
- Manage departmental expenses within approved budgets and focus on reducing waste and increasing sustainability.
- Develop a product proposition that emphasizes affordable, high-quality fabrics and fits.
- Work collaboratively to deliver the brand proposition through strategic product strategies.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Relevant Diploma (e.g., Design, Clothing Management, Retail Management).
- 5+ years of experience in Clothing Buying in retail.
- 3+ years of buying experience specific to Baby products.
- Computer literate.
- SAP knowledge is an added advantage.
