The Road Accident Fund’s Mission:
The RAF’s mission is to provide appropriate cover to all road users within South Africa’s borders, rehabilitate and compensate persons injured as a result of motor vehicle accidents in a timely and caring manner, and promote safe road usage.
Purpose of the Job:
Reporting to the Manager: Internal Auditor, the successful incumbent will be responsible for conducting audits as per the approved audit plan and ensuring compliance with the standards and regulations.
Key Performance Areas:

Plan Audits:
- Prepare notification letters for clients in accordance with the audit plan.
- Conduct preliminary surveys to understand business processes and identify risks.
- Develop audit programs based on the survey and prepare audit planning documents.
- Assist management in identifying potential risks and provide assurance on controls.

Conduct Audits:
- Conduct audits as per the audit program to provide assurance regarding internal control systems.
- Evaluate the adequacy of internal controls and safeguard assets from fraud, irregularity, or corruption.
- Discuss findings with the auditee to ensure accuracy and completeness of the audit results.
- Conduct follow-ups on audit findings, recommendations, and action plans.

Reporting:
- Draft audit findings and provide valid audit evidence with practical recommendations.
- Report audit findings within set timelines to senior auditors.
- Attend to review notes and assist in the development of functional reporting systems.
- Conduct exit meetings with auditees and prepare minutes of meetings.

Stakeholder Management:
- Proactively manage relationships with key stakeholders and vendors.
- Respond to inquiries and requests from both internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience:

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree/Advanced Diploma in Auditing or a related qualification.
- Registered with the Institute of Internal Auditors.
- CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) qualification will be an added advantage.

Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in an auditing environment.
- Experience in an auditing/advisory firm similar in size to RAF will be advantageous.
