Job Description:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a Receiving Manager to oversee the accurate receiving, verification, and processing of incoming goods at their Paarl Mall store. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth stock flow, prevent discrepancies, and manage supplier returns while upholding company policies and SOPs.
Minimum Requirements:
✔ Grade 12 / Matric
✔ Minimum of 3 years’ retail receiving experience
✔ Computer literate (MS Office)
✔ Willing and able to work retail hours
🔹 Advantageous:
✅ 2+ years of staff supervision/management (minimum team of 6 people)
✅ SAP knowledge & experience
Key Responsibilities:
1. Goods Receiving & Verification
- Ensure accurate verification, scanning, and capturing of all incoming goods.
- Oversee the receiving of warehouse deliveries and invoices.
- Prevent and return unordered or damaged goods to suppliers, completing credit notes.
- Verify deliveries against invoices for quantity, variant, and condition consistency.
- Ensure that deliveries are intended for the correct store and match delivery documentation.
2. Supplier & Returns Management
- Process supplier returns according to company policies and ensure timely pickups.
- Maintain warehouse claims system and ensure all returns are properly logged.
- Oversee and manage return policies, including credit notes and vendor return lists.
- Minimize supplier return balances through follow-ups with supplier representatives.
3. Stock Control & Processing
- Ensure accurate capturing of purchase orders on SAP.
- Process all invoices received from warehouses, ensuring proper documentation and filing.
- Oversee invoice verification and compliance with financial procedures (MIRA capturing, VAT, GP, mark-up, etc.).
- Ensure same-day receipting and efficient stock movement to the trading floor.
4. Security & Compliance
- Ensure physical controls over goods receiving are strictly followed.
- Prevent unauthorized access to the store via the receiving area.
- Manage and control high-risk stock items.
- Support store managers in maintaining organized storerooms.
5. Staff Supervision & Development
- Train, mentor, and manage Receiving Clerks and Store Men.
- Ensure correct staff scheduling for smooth operations.
- Conduct performance management, staff development, and training initiatives.

✔ Strong English communication skills (written & verbal)
✔ Basic financial skills (GP, VAT, mark-up calculations, etc.)
✔ Supplier & staff interaction skills
✔ Strong analytical & problem-solving abilities
✔ Time management & ability to meet deadlines

✅ Bilingual (English & Afrikaans preferred)
