A rewarding opportunity has become available for a Retail Estate Manager to join our dynamic team based in North Rand, Johannesburg. The role focuses on expanding the Build it retail footprint by identifying new store locations and securing profitable retail developments within the region.
Job description
As a Retail Estate Manager, your key responsibility will be to grow the Build it retail network by facilitating new store entries and expanding the brand’s presence. This includes evaluating potential retail locations, developing new stores, and overseeing the launch of both new and existing sites to enhance the Build it brand’s regional reach.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Retail Development & Market Expansion:
- Ensure Build it has a strong market presence in property development and retail sectors.
- Evaluate prospective retail sites at both macro and micro levels to support expansion.
- Present selected sites to the Regional Committee for Build it Membership approval.
- Negotiate and finalize lease agreements, securing locations for future development.
- Interview and assess potential retail partners for the Build it brand.
- Oversee the facilitation and sale of existing Build it stores, ensuring strategic growth.
Strategic Relationship Building:
- Foster strong business relationships with key stakeholders, developers, and landlords.
- Maintain regular communication with partners to ensure seamless project delivery.
Financial & Market Analysis:
- Analyze financial statements, with particular emphasis on cash flow and financing options.
- Conduct feasibility studies to assess the financial viability of retail sites.
Minimum Requirements:
- Extensive knowledge of the local property and retail development market.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in Retail Estate Management or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of financial documents, particularly cash flow statements.
- Expertise in negotiating and securing retail leases and contracts.
- Proficient in interpreting demographic and market data.
- Highly motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills.
- A strong sense of integrity and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to develop and nurture long-term business relationships.
- Preferably possess a tertiary qualification in Building Engineering or a Building Science Diploma.
