Job Summary
Clover is looking for a dedicated Operator to manage and oversee processing equipment at the IWS and Berg Cheese Factory. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring, controlling, and maintaining plant processes while ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality assurance protocols.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF4
- Diagnostic competency assessment
- 2-5 years of experience in FMCG/Food Production (operating machinery)
- Fluent in Business English
- Experience in IWS and Berg Cheese production (advantageous)
- Tertiary qualification in Operations or Quality Management (advantageous)
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays

Duties & Responsibilities
1. Equipment Operation & Monitoring
- Operate processing equipment in accordance with SOPs
- Ensure optimal production efficiency and minimize downtime
- Assist with improving operational efficiency and reducing costs
2. Production & Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate records of production volume, yield, plant downtime, and utility consumption
- Monitor usage of process chemicals and supplies while minimizing loss
- Ensure plant cleanliness and sanitation as per regulatory requirements
3. Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure integrity of raw materials and final product
- Understand and interpret QA results and take corrective action if needed
- Maintain high hygiene and safety standards within the factory
4. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Communicate equipment issues to the maintenance team
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on machinery
- Conduct Cleaning in Place (CIP) and prepare equipment for sanitation
- Assist in troubleshooting maintenance-related issues
