Introduction
We are currently recruiting for a Communications Controller to join our dynamic team at SPAR KZN. This role plays a key part in developing and executing strategic internal and retail communication plans to enhance the brand’s presence and communication channels.
Job description
As a Communications Controller, you will assist in planning, creating, and executing communication strategies that align with SPAR KZN’s goals, focusing on both internal and external messaging.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Strategic Communication Planning:
Assist in developing and executing communication plans to support the company’s operational campaigns and strategies. - Content Creation & Collaboration:
Work with the Communications Manager to develop engaging content for newsletters, media screens, social media platforms, and other communication tools. - Retailer Support:
Assist retailer partners in creating social media content and internal communications materials for various platforms. - Campaign Execution:
Support the planning and execution of SPAR KZN’s annual campaigns, ensuring timely delivery of materials. - Content Development:
Write and develop compelling content for flyers, posters, video scripting, and storyboarding. - Administrative Support:
Assist with administrative tasks and ad-hoc requests from the Communications Department. - Production Oversight:
Monitor production processes, including photography, proofreading, field testing, and graphic design. - Brand Consistency:
Ensure consistent application of SPAR’s Corporate Identity to maintain a professional and cohesive image across all communication materials. - Communication Research:
Conduct formal and informal communications research, compiling reports as needed for strategy development.
Minimum Requirements:
- Relevant Communications, Public Relations, or Media qualification.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in a communications role.
- Retail sector experience is an advantage.
- Proven proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud applications (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Essential Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create engaging content for diverse platforms.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, with a deadline-driven approach.
- Ability to execute strategic communication campaigns aligned with company objectives.
