Job Description
Job Purpose
The Collections Agent role involves contacting delinquent or arrear customers via phone to negotiate payment arrangements and recover outstanding balances. You will focus on achieving business objectives while maintaining a positive customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle inbound and outbound calls in compliance with legal frameworks.
- Trace uncontactable customers.
- Meet daily collections and monthly Key Performance Area (KPA) targets.
- Negotiate payments with customers following scripts within dialer time.
- Advise customers of arrears and set suitable payment arrangements to achieve targets.
- Educate and rehabilitate customers regarding their payment profiles.
- Prevent account roll forward and reduce account balances.
- Provide excellent customer service and resolve product, legislative, and account-related queries.
- Ensure timely and accurate action of customer instructions.
- Adhere to company policies and schedules.
Job Requirements
- Experience: At least 18 months’ collections experience in a call centre.
- Qualification: Grade 12.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Proficient in Account Management and Debtor Systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of retail credit account management.
- Ability to work in a competitive and dynamic environment.
