Job Description
Job Purpose
The Collection Agent role involves telephonically contacting delinquent or arrear customers to arrange suitable payment plans to meet business objectives. You will manage inbound and outbound calls, trace uncontactable customers, negotiate payments, and advise customers on their arrear status.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle both inbound and outbound calls within legal and company guidelines.
- Trace uncontactable customers to arrange payment.
- Meet daily collections and monthly Key Performance Area (KPA) targets.
- Negotiate payment arrangements within the provided script and time frame.
- Educate and rehabilitate customers regarding their payment profiles.
- Prevent account roll forward and reduce account balances.
- Advise customers on product, legislative, and account-related queries.
- Provide excellent customer service with a polite, efficient, and professional approach.
- Action customer instructions promptly and accurately.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and schedules.
Job Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 18 months’ collections experience in a call centre environment.
- Qualification: Grade 12.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Proficient in Account Management and Debtor Systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Understanding of retail credit account management.
- Ability to work in a competitive and dynamic environment.
