We are currently recruiting for enthusiastic and reliable Cashiers to join our dynamic retail team in the Cape Town area, including Firgrove, Somerset West, Strand, Gordon’s Bay, James Town, and Maccassa.
Job description
The Cashier plays a crucial role in ensuring excellent customer service by accurately processing customer purchases and ensuring a smooth transaction process.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Front-End Equipment Operation:
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) terminals efficiently.
- Handle debit card terminals, Speedpoint, Veri-cheque, Smartbox, and Zip Zap for processing transactions.
Tender Processing:
- Process a variety of payment methods including cash, cheques, gift vouchers, bank cards, and pensioner’s cards.
Stock and Housekeeping:
- Ensure store cleanliness and organization, maintaining hygiene standards.
- Assist with stock management and labeling.
Customer Service Excellence:
- Provide friendly, courteous, and efficient service to customers.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues professionally.
Signage and Pricing:
- Assist with the updating and maintaining of signage and price tags.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric / NQF level 4 or equivalent qualification.
- Previous cashier experience, either part-time or as a trainee.
