Job Description
A well-established company is seeking a Manager: Construction and Forestry to oversee financial management, sales, marketing, customer service, and operational processes.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Administration
- Achieve financial targets (Turnover, Gross Profit %, Net Profit %).
- Perform reconciliations of OTC and TBR internal accounts.
- Analyse and monitor sales and commissions.
- Manage costs and expenditures.
- Process trade-ins/buy-outs.
- Conduct financial forecasting.
- Update pricelists and circulate them.
- Draft quotations and assist with invoicing to financial institutions.
- Manage inventory across all outlets.
- Process daily direct transfer receipts and ensure accurate debtor transfers to SAP.
Market Research & Marketing
- Conduct market research on national and international competitors.
- Expand and diversify market share in the Construction & Forestry industry.
- Advise on geographical expansion strategies.
- Act as a Construction & Forestry specialist, ensuring excellent customer care.
Customer Service & Relationship Management
- Handle customer queries related to quality and quantity.
- Improve Customer Service Index (CSI) and follow up on at-risk feedback.
- Conduct client visits and follow-up calls.
- Organise product launches and information days.
Operational & Business Process Management
- Oversee all operational processes to ensure profitability and sustainability.
- Manage the entire sales process.
- Verify branch inventory through stock-taking.
- Provide status reports and management data.
Market Expansion & Brand Development
- Identify and establish a customer base for Construction & Forestry equipment.
- Develop and position the Construction & Forestry brand.
- Manage the capital plan and identify strategic partners.
- Establish supplier agreements and staffing structures.
- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
Requirements
- Education: National Senior Certificate (Management qualification preferred).
- Experience:
- 5–8 years of sales and marketing experience in construction/mining.
- Experience with Construction & Forestry equipment preferred.
- Management experience preferred.
