Overview
Glencore, a leading global diversified natural resource company, is seeking an HR Manager to support Employee Relations, Wellness, Assurance, and Transformation within Glencore Coal SA. This role will involve providing guidance for HR assurance activities, assisting with HR-related investigations, and supporting regulatory audits. The HR Manager will also drive initiatives related to Culture Transformation and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning & Monitoring: Collaborate with the Group HR Manager and other stakeholders to define HR plans, set deliverables, and monitor progress.
- Training & Development: Identify and coordinate training needs related to Employee Relations, Wellness, and Transformation.
- HR Assurance: Lead internal and external HR assurance processes and regulatory audits. Develop action plans to address any identified gaps.
- Investigations: Oversee HR-related investigations from programs like Raising Concerns, EHS Harassment and Bullying Helpline, and Whistleblowing contacts.
- Culture Transformation & DEI: Lead initiatives aimed at transforming the company culture and driving diversity, equity, and inclusion across operations.
- Consultative Forums: Coordinate activities and meetings of consultative forums, ensuring timely delivery of actions arising from consultations.
- Discipline & Dispute Resolution: Provide guidance on discipline and dispute resolution, representing the company at CCMA proceedings when required.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to legislation, policies, procedures, and agreements. Compile and submit Social and Labour Plan HR elements and Employment Equity Plans.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary qualification (NQF Level 7).
- Postgraduate qualification in Employee/Labour Relations Management/Labour Law and a Business qualification is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum Experience:
- At least 6 years as an HR Generalist, with 2 years at a D-Lower level.
- Experience in the mining industry is a plus.
- Familiarity with CCMA processes.
- Knowledge of risk management, governance, and assurance in HR processes.
- Understanding of transformation legislation related to the mining industry.
